Bikers for Boobies AZ began its existence more than 15 years ago when Shelley Martin, President of Bikers for Boobies, received a piece of mail about a “Pink Party” and decided she wanted to raise money for breast cancer.
She brought her idea to her co-workers at The Dirty Dogg Saloon. Jack Estes, the Vice President of Bikers for Boobies and owner of the Dirty Dogg, suggested putting together a Poker Run (motorcycle ride to raise money). A few short weeks from that time, the first Bikers for Boobies motorcycle run happened. There were 120 bikes in 2009 and our numbers have skyrocketed since. In 2014, we had over 1,500 bikes and raised $60,000. In 2018, we had over 2,000 bikes and again raised over $60,000. By 2023, Bikers for Boobies AZ had raised and donated over $600,000.
In 2013, Bikers for Boobies AZ was able to achieve official status as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the IRS.
In its years of existence, Bikers for Boobies has provided charitable donations to organizations including Casting for Recovery, M.O.M (Mobile Onsite Mammography) and Singleton Moms, Froth and Bubble, Don’t be a Chump Check for a Lump and many more. Bikers for Boobies AZ has also been able to donate many mammograms for local women through M.O.M. You can click on our Resources page to learn more.
Our vision is to promote education and awareness to anyone seeking information for themselves, or a loved one diagnosed with cancer. We will assist anyone with any type of cancer with an emphasis on breast cancer. Cancer is a scary time. So many questions and uncertainties slap you right in the face. We are here to help those in need and fighting.
Bikers for Boobies AZ has partnered with several statewide community programs and foundations to broaden our reach and be able to support our community in more ways. Please see our updated resource page as we are constantly adding great organizations.
Each year we strive to be able to touch more lives in a positive way as people fight the battle for their life.
We raise money and we ride, and we celebrate those that have looked cancer in the eye and stared it down and won. We also celebrate the lives of those that fought hard but are no longer with us. We party, we have raffled off several motorcycles, and we also raffle off some other crazy items, all to raise money for those that need it.
Your participation, your donations, your time, all go where it is needed, and stay local in our community.
Thank you for helping us make a difference!
