Laura Rasmussen, Treasurer

Laura Rasmussen is no stranger to giving back to the community. Raised by parents who shared that belief paved the way. Laura’s non-profit “work” began as an assistant to her mom with a girl scout troop at age 13. From there she has been involved with numerous organizations and events including but not limited to girl scouts of the Milwaukee area, junior achievement, Colorado aids project, safehouse for battered women, Arizona dragon boat association, and casting for recovery.

Encouraging words and support from a friend in the early 90’s made “riding her own” a reality. It became a passion and provided additional opportunities to give back to the community.

A breast cancer diagnosis in 2002 honed her focus on organizations dedicated to the support, education, and quality of life for breast cancer survivors. Nine years ago, she was introduced to bikers for boobies. She has volunteered for the ride every year and assists with providing volunteers at the stops along the way. Most of the volunteers recruited by Ms. Rasmussen are breast cancer survivors themselves. When possible, you will find Laura on the ride on her 2012 softail deluxe.

A self employed bookkeeper Ms. Rasmussen was a natural choice to join the board as the treasurer of bikers for boobies.
